Serving Texas
Kathleen Odom
There is an old adage, "I've never met a stranger." Well, that's Kathleen! She loves to visit with young and old alike because everyone has a story to tell. Her work experience is comprised of sales, teaching, telephone company jobs, licensed massage therapist and an EOL (End of Life Planning Facilitator)
"Growing up a Minnesota farm girl, she worked for an answering service for doctor offices before acquiring a job at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company (NWB) in North Dakota. Kathleen began a long and diversified career with NWB in 1975, which continued when she transferred to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (SWB) in Midland, TX, in 1980.
Unfortunately, Kathleen later injured her back and needed to seek medical treatment which included therapeutic massage therapy. Thankfully, this turned the circumstances into a blessing in disguise. Kathleen attended classes and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1996.
Kathleen provided massage therapy to her clients for 27 years, then decided to expand once again. She completed an online course and became a certified End-of-Life (EOL) Planning Facilitator in 2022. She guides and encourages clients to complete their own workbook, and/or online course. One of Kathleen's desires is to reassure clients and lessen their fear about discussing the "D" word. Having one location containing all your valuable data like legal documents, financial records, household items, funeral arrangements, digital information and more has proven to be invaluable to families. People spend months planning for a wedding or a new baby, but only have days to prepare for a loved one's funeral. Planning reduces stress, avoids family conflict, lowers expenses and provides peace of mind for the family who are left mourning their loved ones passing."
Kathleen was blessed with two beautiful children and her five grandchildren are her pride and joy. As Julie Andrews sings in "The Sound of Music," these are a few of her favorite things: family gatherings, traveling, meeting new people, reading, researching, dancing, long walks and participating in 5Ks. This is why Kathleen is extremely honored to be able to serve you as a Seniors Specialist and become your advocate.
